The Global Shapers Community is a network of Hubs developed and led by young people who are exceptional in their potential, their achievements and their drive to make a contribution to their communities.
Jaideep Bansal is the Energy Access Leader for GHE and has been involved in setup of DC based Solar Micro Grids for the off grid remote Himalayan Villages. The team has electrified 25 villages impacting the lives of over 15,000 people, and plans to electrify 40 more villages in 2017. He has also been instrumental in providing experiential-based digital education to the students of the Ladakh region by setting up Himalayan Innovation Centers with GHE, which have won the Design for Change Award two years in a row for sustainability projects. He also set the world record for the first electric bike to reach the highest motorable road in the world in September 2015. National Geographic and NDTV have each made a documentary on GHE and its initiative to bring light to the remotest communities of the world. Jaideep was selected among 6,000 Shapers to be the Member of the Foundation Board of the Global Shapers Community and has represented India at Davos in 2016 and 2017. He was featured among the top 10 people at Davos 2017 who will restore the faith in humanity.
