The Chicago Hub began in 2013 with an inaugural class and we've continued to grow and evolve since then. We are proud to represent Chicago's amazing neighborhoods (Hyde Park to Edgewater), count as our members Shapers from across the world, work and study in a variety industries (private to public sector, entrepreneurs to graduate students and everything in between), and boast a multitude of pizza predilections (deep-dish, thin-crust, and yes, even New York-style). We're more than a cohort of young professionals committed to changing Chicago for the better. Through service events, city excursions, weekend working sessions, impromptu coffees or late-night dance parties, we've grown into a tight-knit group of advisers and friends. We hold a monthly event and a monthly call, and have Fall and Spring retreats to onboard new members, assess the Hub's activities, address governance, and plan/progress our annual impact projects. Each year, we select a set of impact projects that directly connect to improving the lives of Chicagoans. Since 2018, our goal and impact theme are focused on what it takes to prepare Chicagoans for a Future of Work that is equitable and inclusive. We are working on impact projects centered on this theme that span career readiness, inclusive entrepreneurship, and city policy.
