Chicago Hub
The Chicago Hub began in 2013, and we are proud to represent Chicago's amazing neighborhoods (from Hyde Park to Edgewater), we count as our members Shapers from across the world, work and study in a variety industries (private to public sector, entrepreneurs to graduate students and everything in between), and boast a multitude of pizza predilections (deep-dish, thin-crust, and yes, even New York-style). We're more than a cohort of young professionals committed to changing Chicago for the better.
Since 2018, our impact work is focused on equity and inclusion and education and employment: what does it take to prepare every Chicagoan for a Future of Work that is equitable and inclusive. We are working on impact projects centered on this theme that span career readiness, inclusive entrepreneurship, and city policy.
Additinally, through service events, city excursions, weekend working sessions, impromptu coffees or late-night dance parties, we are a tight-knit group of advisers and friends. We hold a monthly event and a monthly call and convene Fall and Spring retreats to onboard new members, assess the Hub's activities, address governance, and plan/progress our annual impact projects. Multiple members and alumni have represent our Chicago Hub and the Global Shapers Community at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos and the Annual Conference of New Champions.
We recruit new members annually each summer. Please follow us on social media and visit our website to apply: https://www.chicagoshapers.org/become-a-shaper
