Christchurch Hub

Christchurch Global Shapers is comprised of a small number of exceptional young professionals who come from diverse backgrounds, united by our passion to influence positive change through meaningful projects and harnessing the collective power of active citizenship.

Between us, we are lawyers, entrepreneurs, technologists, environmentalists, community connectors, and more.

We are a conduit for connecting change makers, channelling our energy and enthusiasm into curating a mixture of events and projects, to add value to our city and wider region, particularly in the context of sustainability and the post-earthquake city rebuild.

Officially we meet once a month, providing opportunities for personal and professional development, collaborate with the Auckland Hub to host at least one retreat annually and support the Australia / New Zealand network of Global Shapers Hubs.

Hub activities are non-political, non-partisan and always focussed on impact.

Alongside the international mission of the Global Shapers Community, the Christchurch Hub in New Zealand has four specific principles that we align our activities with:

  1. Championing the Sustainable Development Goals in our city.

  2. Providing a youth voice on decisions being made in our city, particularly around issues which impact young people and the future of our city.

  3. Collaborating and partnering with other people and communities as much as possible.

  4. Aiming for all our activities to have a bias towards action.

Applications are currently closed for the Christchurch Hub will re-open in late October 2019.
