Welcome to the Tampa Bay Global Shapers Hub!!

We are ecstatic to have you as a member of our team. We are a group of like-minded young people that are determined to help co-create a positive future for our community. Our Hub Culture is defined by our approach to one another and the issues that matter the most to our community. Everyone gets heard, everyone's perspective and ideas are valid. We firmly believe that every individual is gifted with certain talents and passions that are vital to the whole; it is our responsibility as leaders to support one another so that these inherent talents are realized within our Hub. We are better together--this is our approach to create accelerated change through radical action, inspiration and unity within our community. 

Mission Statement: To radically unify our community, inspire social innovation, and create sustainable impact through mindful action and engaged service, that reinvigorates an equitable and prosperous future of unlimited possibilities for the wellbeing of humanity and the planet. 

2023 Focus/ Project Areas:

1)    Hunger/homelessness: food drive, fundraising; connecting food scarcity with community gardens, possibly increasing accessibility of mental health services for homeless through book donation drives 

2)    Environmental: oyster reef restoration, coastal way clean-ups/policy, preservation of natural springs, expansion/implementation of grassroots community garden initiative; policy related projects: requiring recycling mandates, supporting recycling plant creation, etc.

3)    Leadership/confidence incubator: connecting mentors with high school students interested in connecting passion, profit, and purpose to serve the greater collective through exploring careers in social impact, sustainability, entrepreneurialism, nonprofit and politics. Intention is to empower confidence in youth to channel climate/world anxiety into action. 

4)    Civic engagement: attending important city hall meetings, connecting with appropriate legislature representatives, and raising awareness for policy initiatives that directly create the largest impact in the community.
