Global Shapers Turin Hub empowers industrious young people united by the desire to serve their local communities by leveraging insights and expertise collected from around the world. It brings together experts employed by major companies headquartered in town, freelancers and startuppers who have turned their passions into professions, researchers and activists committed to advancing environmental and social sustainability. The Hub composition also mirrors the multinational demographics of the city and embodies the spirit of global citizenship: collectively, Hub members are available to communicate and speak up in Italian, English, Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Chinese, Albanian, Polish, Portuguese and Somali.
Following the Impact Areas framework of the World Economic Forum for the years 2019 - 2021, the Hub’s ongoing volunteering projects aim at improving the state of (1) Climate and Environment, (2) Education and Employment, and (3) Equity and Inclusion. They are organized in close collaboration with local partners to tackle issues covering the Fourth Industrial Revolution, The Future of Work, Circular Economy, Sustainable Development Goals, Integration of Refugees, Intercultural Dialogue, Food Innovation and other areas of interest. Hub’s interventions within larger projects usually take the shape of talks, presentations, workshops, panels, consultations, publications and social media campaigns.
