Nowadays school students in China have a lot of complicated school tasks to do, and hence have less time to read a book completely. They receive fragmented information, and have less willingness to get access to textual knowledge. 

Based on this concern, Global Shapers of Shanghai Yangpu hub arranged a series of #1Hourwith1Book events. We select books and invite speakers to introduce a new book each time. The introduction is not just about authors and storylines, but also about any related knowledge and links with other books. Some interesting aspects of the book triggered group discussions among participants. For each reading session, we reserved 30 minutes for students to fully enjoy their reading time.
