Addressing Inequality

While Detroit is experiencing increasing investment, rapid redevelopment, and an unprecedented resurgence, the tale of two cities narrative dilutes the notion of its success. The benefits from economic growth are significantly concentrated amongst certain geographic areas and specific populations, leaving the majority of Detroiters largely unaffected, if not negatively impacted by rising costs and displacement as a result of gentrification. The Detroit Hub aims to connect challenges identified by the community (social, economic, environmental) with local higher educational institutions, industry leaders and policy-makers who have capacity and resources to develop solutions. The hub will connect resident voices to key decision-makers and measure impact using key data indicators before, during and after implementation.
