AI, 4IR & Future Korea

AI, 4IR & Korea started from my internal workshop for Seoul Shapers last year. I Initiated, planned, & led workshop on AI and its real impacts on economy and society for Seoul hub members. There are already lots of discussions around the issue but not many are on the point. Very few people actually understand the gist of it because most of discussions are lacking specificity, sometimes completely incorrect. It is sort of a danger that not understanding our time's most radical change, given the fact that AI has already started impacting every facet of industries and lives. To give a clear view on this issue, my workshop analyzed AI in every possible angle - ranging from technological to economical to political - and opened up discussion what we need to prepare for this transformative change. I myself created the whole content and delivered it for knowledge sharing purpose. Not only active hub members attended, but also senior YGL member and shaper from NY attended (so I should run the session both in Korean/English simultaneously). It was one of the most successful gatherings last year in Seoul hub, and we reached the consensus that young leaders must be not just well aware of this issue but also be the agent of change.

Now I'm envisioning to scale this type of education workshop on AI & 4IR to the public for social good. Especially for now-teenager, our future generation, who will be most impacted by AI & 4IR. But right now there is no any single entity or institution in Korea that focuses on discussing the coming wave of revolution in the context of public education. Only vague, superficial, narrow discourses (i.e. coding education) are being talked around. We need to enlighten, educate, and promote new digital mindset and future skills that can survive through the age of AI & 4IR, and I believe it is the duty for young leaders around the world. I would like to start educational movement from Korea and spread out to other cities and countries. This project aims to focus mostly on 1) uncovering the real issue of AI&4IR in very easy and approachable yet accurate way for the public (mostly teenager and freshmen at university) and 2) helping them prepare for the future of job by coaching new skill sets. For achieving the ultimate goal of this project, high level partnerships with governments, corporates, and institutes are much needed, and I actually started to discuss it with Seoul city's governmental agency. Hope the Forum helps this project move forward.
