Aldeia Anacé - Waves for Water

Water supply is a serious problem in the Brazilian Northeast.

Concerning this problem, we developed this project in order to provide an alternative to supplying drinking water to an indigenous community in the metropolitan region of Fortaleza.

The project started in October, 2018 and finished in April, 2019.

In terms of short-term results, we delivered 88 filters to the indigenous Community and  promoted training on how to use the filter.

As a matter of long term change, with the Waves for Water Organization, we have achieved 100 single-family water treatment filters. Each filter has the capacity to filter over 40,000 L of water and presents the life-cycling for more than 5 years. In total, we had 98 filters distributed, having a direct impact on over 350 people. Our impact can be considered even bigger because we delivered a filter to a health clinic and a school.
