The Southeast Misssouri and Northeastern Arkansas Chapter of the American Red Cross has provided support for the Cape Girardeau Hub. With their support, we are hosting a blood drive on July 1, 2022. Hosting blood drives is essential for aiding in the blood shortage that has taken on our world and community. Every unit collected can save up to three patients lives. Blood collection drives are an important compent of Cape Girardeau, MO. We have become a new sponsor for drives in the area, and we are hosting a few drives each year to help cope with the shortage. 

Hosting blood drives will have a great impact on our community and beyond. Each unit of blood can save up to three lives. For this project, we are hoping to collect at least 20-25 units of blood. Collecting this amount of blood products could help save up to 60-75 people. Therefore, our goals are to promote and recruit enough donors for the drive to collect the unit goal mentioned. We are hoping to impact the community by providing more units of blood to the hospitals to help with the shortage.
