Art Therapy

Project's Problem Statement:

In Oslo, a pressing issue is the prevalence of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, and a lack of emotional resilience within the community. Traditional therapeutic methods may not always provide the necessary engagement or accessibility for everyone in need.

Project's Target Group: Our primary focus is on individuals within the Oslo community seeking alternative methods for improving mental health and well-being. This includes those affected by crisis, individuals struggling with emotional and cognitive challenges, and anyone looking to enhance their self-esteem and resilience through creative expression.

Project's Proposed Solution "Empowerment Through Creativity" addresses these challenges by offering an art therapy workshop designed to unlock creative potential and foster emotional, cognitive, and social well-being. Under the guidance of Soroka, an experienced art therapist, participants are introduced to various artistic mediums in a supportive environment, encouraging personal growth and community connection.

Hub Activities for This Project Conducting art therapy sessions led by a Oslo shaper, focusing on various forms of artistic expression. Offering these workshops for free to ensure accessibility for all community members. Conducting a comprehensive survey to evaluate the impact of art therapy on participants' mental health and well-being. Facilitating community-building activities to promote empathy and shared experiences among participants.

Project Short and Long-term

Goals Short-term Goals: Improve participants' focus, self-esteem, and resilience through targeted art therapy sessions. Establish a supportive community of individuals engaged in creative expression for emotional healing.

Long-term Goals: Achieve a sustained improvement in the mental health and well-being of participants. Foster a broader acceptance and integration of art therapy as a valuable tool for mental health support within the Oslo community.

Project's Available Metrics Changes in participants' mental state and well-being, specifically regarding anxiety, depression, and overall mood, as assessed through pre- and post-workshop surveys. Improvements in cognitive functions and sensorimotor skills, including concentration, creativity, and motor skills. Enhancements in self-esteem, emotional resilience, social skills, and workplace wellness, as measured by participant feedback and behavioral observations.

Project Collaborators While specific organizational collaborators are not mentioned, the project would likely benefit from partnerships with local mental health organizations, educational institutions, and community centers in Oslo to widen its reach and impact. Collaboration with these entities could also provide additional resources and support for the project's objectives.
