Basketball Tournament 3x3

Physical inactivity is the 4th global mortality risk (WHO, 2017). In Mexico, 56% of the population is physically inactive, which explains why the country has the first place in adult and child obesity in the world. Through this project, the Culiacán Hub sought to encourage young people in the city to positively impact their community through actions that ignite a social benefit in their daily life. The project took place from January to March 2019.

The hub did this through the participation of young people in a basketball tournament with different category levels. The funds raised in the tournament were used to hold a Children's Day party at an Elementary School in Culiacán. The project was developed in three phases:

  1. Visit a secondary school and preparatory school of with the objective of motivating students to generate positive change in their environment through actions that positively impact their communities, at the end they were invited to participate and promote the basketball tournament.

  2. Execution of the tournament 3x3.

  3. Execution of the Children's Day party at the Elementary School.
