Competitive racial disparity in the labor market is a problem that haunts today, when we filter the presence of black people in leadership positions, the situation becomes even more critical.

 

Thinking of boosting the confidence of young black people in our community, Recife Hub developed Preto³, an educational project that aims to stimulate and prepare young black people to occupy more leadership positions and protagonism in society, through training trails (workshops) with various relevant topics to the professional and social reality.

 

PROBLEM STATEMENT

The lack of representation of black and black people in leadership / political positions, which often prevents young people from visualizing themselves in these positions.

 

TARGET GROUP

The young black population.

 

PROPOSED SOLUTION

Offer workshops, lectures and mentorship with young professionals and unemployed black people to develop leadership skills.

 

HUB ACTIVITIES

- Creation of a community in order to develop leadership skills;

- Partnership with companies to introduce these young people in selection processes;

- Support in building a career plan for black professionals in the partner companies.


SHORT-TERM GOALS / RESULTS: 

- Young black people feeling able to enter the labor market;

- Development of leadership and soft skills, also some technical knowledge useful to get a job

 

LONG-TERM CHANGE

Make young people who participated in this project see themselves in leadership positions and feel prepared to enter these spaces, as well as prepare and encourage companies to incorporate these people on their staffs.

 

AVAILABLE METRICS


  • Young people who participated in at least 4 training sessions;

  • Increased self-confidence to participate in a selection process;

  • Young people who got 1 job/internship after 6 months of participation in the program.
