While Chicago continues to focus on the growth of its tech sector, the city has experienced an imbalanced recovery that has disproportionately neglected specific communities and geographies. Economic disparities, chronic unemployment, public safety and other challenges have excluded parts of the city from fully participating in its economic advancement, which necessitates a vision of the future of work that full incorporates equity, diversity, and inclusion. The Chicago hub researched the issue and brought together community leaders from various sectors in Chicago to co-imagine solutions for how to make the future of work in Chicago more equitable and inclusive. These insights culminated in a report, published on chicagoshapers.org, offering perspectives for how to make the future of work more equitable and inclusive. The report was also shared with incoming mayor, Lori Lightfoot.
