BUM Sariak

Bizkaia United Minds Sariak, or BUM Sariak, is a new initiative organized by Global Shapers Bilbao with the collaboration of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia.


The aim of the BUM Sariak Awards is to recognise, support and promote the work of young people from Biscay between the ages of 16 and 30 with the greatest potential to contribute to the economic and social development of the Historic Territory of Biscay by generating an impact.


BUM Sariak is targeted to young people from Biscay between the ages of 16 and 30 with the greatest potential to contribute to the economic and social development of the Historic Territory of Biscay by generating an impact.


The BUM Sariak Awards 2022 aims to support projects that are developed by young people, original, innovative with a positive impact on the community and that contribute to the promotion of Bizkaia's image. 


The Awards are divided into 5 categories: Healthy Bizkaia, Committed Bizkaia, Sustainable Bizkaia, Creative Bizkaia and Innovative Bizkaia. For each category, a Professional Jury will choose the winning project, which will receive a prize of €3,000. Additionally, among all the finalists, the public, through online voting, will award a 6th prize consisting of a trip to Brussels to present the project to the European institutions.


 


With the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, we launched a massive campaign to promote the BUM Sariak Awards and open the call for possible candidate projects.


As a result, the call closed with more than 180 proposals. The finalists will be announced in. Likewise, an awards gala is organized for December 1, 2022, at which the winners will be announced. 


Assessment:


For the evaluation of the candidates and the selection of the three finalist projects in each category, the Youth Committee has been formed, with representatives of the young associative network of Bizkaia. 


For the evaluation of the finalist projects and selection of the winner in each category, a jury of experts was formed, with prestigious professionals and international and local representatives of the Global Shapers Community. 


Selection process: 


For the selection of the 5 finalist projects in each category, we have had the support of a Youth Committee, formed by representatives of the youth associative network and young personalities of territorial relevance. 


For the selection of the final winners in each category, there has been the external support of a jury of experts, composed of three professionals of recognized prestige in each category and an international representative of the Global Shapers Community (Buenos Aires, Medellin, Mexico City, Ottawa and Tucuman Hubs.
