CapaCiti Mentorship Programme

The project aims to support learners and students currently being trained in tech to develop business acumen and financial management skills as well as developing teamwork and a sustainable work ethic. The programme also seeks to help and drive them towards achieving their goals outside of starting a business should that not be of interest to them.

The programme started as a pilot and is being rolled out in 2021 after an evaluation of implementation parameters and lessons learned including the development of a more structured mentorship approach to meet the needs of the students being mentored.

The project supported 49 students in the CapaCiTi programme (who is the man collaborator) to gain access to business, economic and employment opportunity and will continue to do so going forward. The cohorts are in 6-month rotations at a time. The goal is to expand the programme to include collaboration with other Hubs and funders including support from the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation to support the mentors and provide additional mentor capacity should it be needed.
