Civic Participation

The impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) is not inevitable; rather the future will be shaped by the decisions that we make today. Mexico is holding its next presidential elections in July 2018, during which state governors, city mayors and local deputies will also be elected.

Shapers in the Guadalajara Hub wish to encourage informed voting among citizens that takes into account the key qualities decision-makers must have to lead responsibly in the 4IR. For example, leaders should have a long-term vision, systems approach, data-driven focus and commitment to collaboration.

The aim of this initiative is not to tell citizens who to vote for, but to develop evaluation criteria that enables all people at all levels of leadership to understand what's needed to prepare and design solutions for a positive future.
