Climate Fresk: Empowering Bahrainis to Tackle Climate Change Addressing the Knowledge Gap: Climate Change Awareness in Bahrain

Project Problem Statment: Our project, Climate Fresk, tackles the critical issue of limited climate change awareness within the Bahraini community. Climate change poses a significant threat to our planet, and fostering a knowledgeable and engaged citizenry is paramount to addressing this challenge.

Target Group: All age groups in Bahrain.

Project Describtion: The project uses a unique and engaging program developed by the international Climate Fresk organization. This program equips individuals to become facilitators who can then lead interactive workshops on climate change. Our project benefits from having two certified Global Shapers who are actively delivering these workshops within Bahrain. The workshops themselves utilize an innovative approach, employing a fun and educational card game to introduce participants to the realities of climate change. Through this gamified learning experience, participants gain a comprehensive understanding of the causes, impacts, and solutions associated with climate change.

Partners & Collaborations: Our hub has collaborated with the Bahrain Science Center to facilitate four successful Climate Fresk workshops. This collaboration has beenhelped us in reaching a wider audience and maximizing the project's impact, and by providing us with the venue to host the workshops.

Short Term and Long Term Impact: In the immediate term, the project strives to educate the Bahraini community on the intricacies of climate change. Over the long term, the project aims to increase in the number of Climate Fresk facilitators within Bahrain. This growth will empower more individuals to become agents of change, inspiring and facilitating climate action within our local community.

Project Metrics: The Climate Fresk project has demonstrably achieved positive outcomes. To date, our hub has facilitated four workshops, successfully educating a total of 37 participants on climate change. We are committed to monitoring and reporting on the project's ongoing impact as we strive to expand our reach and empower more Bahrainis to address this critical challenge.
