Community Reshaping Contest 2021

Community Reshaping Contest was inspired by the core value of MAX Education founded by the Ho Chi Minh City Hub Shaper Alumnus, Mr Hieu Dinh Le - to help every young Vietnamese become more mature, be courageous to speak up for themselves and directly contribute to positive changes in the community. The project team is proud that Global Shapers HCMC Hub collaborated with MAX Education and UNESCO to organize a competition for high school students aged 15-20, who have innovative ideas of running a project for social impact.

The industry 4.0 era brings limitless resources and information that anyone can easily access immediately. With a large source of information, always updated every second, users, especially young people today are easily caught up in the virtual world. Instant information on social networks, besides the traditional "read-write" educational method, may gradually reduce the ability of young people to deepen their own information, critical thinking skills to see corner problems and solve them.

Community Reshaping Contest was born with the goal of connecting high school students with valuable information resources through the process of experiencing active and creative learning methods. Contestants were asked to take the time to observe closely to find out the outstanding problems in their community. Through different rounds of competition under the guidance of coaches with extensive expertise and life experiences from Global Shapers Ho Chi Minh City Hub and MAX Education, the contestants could practice the skill of seeing different sides of the problem to go deep to the core level. From there, they could use critical thinking skills to find the positive and innovative solutions, bring positive values, and improve the quality of life in their community. Global Shapers Ho Chi Minh Hub and MAX Education believe that this is a valuable practical experience that is difficult for young people to achieve in a general education environment.
