Problem Statement

There are more than a million people with lower limb amputation in Mexico, however only three people out of every 100 will walk again with a prosthesis and recover their autonomy due to various factors.

Proposed Solution and Hub Activities

That is why, being Jalisco a leading state in the supply of care, but also with a high number of people who suffer an amputation is key the generation of an event focused on the Community of Persons with Amputation in Mexico, which we conceive as COPA. In order to raise awareness about the situation of people with lower limb amputation in Mexico and the different alternatives existing for adequate autonomy.


We will have our very first gathering the 8th of October at Tec de Monterrey in Guadalajara, Jalisco. 


We will have a motivational speaker, a conference about the adequate attention process for the recovery of the autonomy for people with an amputation, talks about rights, healthy habits and care of the caretakers plus prosthesis exhibition and amputee related products. 


Short & Long-term Goals/Results

We expect about 250 people, from which 100-200 people will be people with an amputation and companions, the rest will be healthcare and prosthetic related professionals. With will deliver 300 first care of an amputee manuals and launch a campaign to attend one person with an amputation for free together with different organizations.
