CoStraws

Climate change is real. There are 10 million plastic straws in the ocean, which is affecting marine life. The hospitality sector has been using plastics abundantly. We, the young changemakers of tomorrow, have to create an awareness to the hospitality sector about the use of ecological products. Due to the ban of plastic straws by the EU, the hospitality sector has started adapting the paper straws.

However, the paper straws are made up of trees which are cut down which is contributing to thousands of acres of deforestation, increased CO2 emmisions, etc. The Marseille hub raises the awareness of climate change by demonstrating the fallen coconut leaf straws.


The goals of the project are:


1. Eliminate at least a 100K of plastic/paper straws from restaurants in Marseille (/year)

 

2. Upskill at least 50 restaurants:
