Cybercrime damages expected to cost world around $6 trillion annually by 2021 – exponentially more than the damage inflicted from natural disasters in a year.

Global Shapers Tripoli Hub hosted a cybersecurity workshops to help protect the digital identity and contents of the Libyan civil society members and press who come under repeated online attacks. The Hub hopes to support the dissemination of key reporting to the national/global audiences and in ways that combat the pervasive rise in misinformation.

According to online survey conducted by Tripoli Hub, it shows that 40.1% of participants have personally experienced or someone they know, a form of cybercrime. And 40.5% negatively impacted on the personal level.
