THE PROBLEM AT HAND

The Kedarnath Yatra is a part of the holy pilgrimage of Char Dham Yatra in theHimalayan region in India. Millions of people visit the shrine every year, after trekking through a tough path of over 20 kms. The pilgrimage is surrounded by majestic mountains, which echo the beautiful voices of the river. The same increases the natural beauty of the place, but also brings hardships in providing efficient and fast medical services as and when the need arises. In Kedarnath (India), high number of casualties were being reported due to heart attacks and 101 people died in the first 60 days of the season.

SOLUTION

Dehradun Hub in partnership with Spandan Foundation has started a relief and screening program at the altitude of 6,500 ft from sea level to prevent deaths. The team has been able to reduce the mortality rate happening due to heart attacks to 100% and reduce the death rate from 101 in the first two months to just 2 deaths in the last 3 months. This magical and heartwhelming initiave is being driven at 6,500+ ft altitude in the Himalayas.
