Eco Vision Board Party

Creating the future we want depends on collective action across all sectors of our society and economy. The Concept of environmental sustainability isn’t new. With the risk of sounding like a broken record, sustainability is simply using resources available to our benefit while making sure there will still be enough for the future generations. Being truly sustainable means ensuring development, while also maintaining biological diversity and preserving the balance of the ecosystem by moving toward using renewable sources from all walks of life. We need to build up a new cohort of people who can find new solutions and synergies for environmental sustainability. Ensuring the health and productivity of ecosystems will not only fall to our natural scientists but also on everyone including Students, Economists, Engineers, Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers, Corporate Leaders, Communities amongst others. Sub-Saharan Africa today is in the midst of a dramatic transition that will persist well into the 21st century. Between 2010 and 2035, the population is expected to more than double from approximately 298 million to 697 million. By mid-century, it is estimated that over 1 billion people will live in urban areas whilst rural areas are also developing. While urbanization has the potential to act as an engine of economic growth and human development when properly planned for, it also brings with it enormous challenges. One of its major challenges is the environmental crisis in various countries There are 3 reasons why we need to start looking at how we create sustainable solutions for this environmental crisis is : the increasing demand for raw materials, dependence on other countries, and the impact on the earth’s climate (CO2 emissions). Our myopic focus on producing and consuming as cheaply as possible has created a linear economy in which objects are briefly used and then discarded as waste. Alternatives exist, however, and we need to look at nature to be inspired. We must consider ourselves are part of the solution to the resilience and longevity of our ecosystems in which the seasons are perfectly harmonized with the lifecycle of all species. Commit Act Do. The idea behind creating a vision board for the environment and climate action is to serve as a creative, daily reminder of the goals you wish to attain by tapping into the power of visualization. You may be wondering why going through the process of creating a vision board for your environmental goals is useful or why you would need to put something on your wall when you already have it in your head, but this is exactly the point. It has become a necessity due to our inability to see the harm we are cause our environmental ecosystem. The vision board is meant to metaphorically bring your ideas and commitment for any goals and objective for the future into reality, as a tangible object you can draw inspiration from every day.

This signature, one of a kind event will drive new change makers for environmental action. This vision board party, strictly for environmental and climate action, will enable participants not only share what they want the Environment to be like but also what they will do to make sure we have a sustainable environment. Through the visualization activity at this event, participants will be encouraged to look within and make conscious decision to act now in a more simple, easy and fun way. This will compel the participants to commit to becoming the change they want to see and above all actively being a part of the process.
