Project Problem Statement: Indonesia has many challenges to become a more sustainable country. On the talent-side, young people who want to get into sustainability careers find it hard to break into the industry. On the business-side, the country’s landscape consists primarily of SMEs, yet they lack the resources and know-hows to be more sustainable and reach a larger market.
Project Target Group:
- Careers in Sustainability: Young Professionals (18-30 years old)
- SMEs: SMEs in key sustainability-related industries
Project's Proposed Solution:
- Offline forums sharing from professionals and leaders in the field of sustainability
- A series of workshops for SMEs and consulting on ESG initiatives
Hub activities:
- Planned an event titled EcoTalks, featuring five senior professionals from Nafas.id, WRI, Systemiq, and Funding Societies and inviting 70-100 university students and young professionals. There will be a fireside chat with the five senior professionals, Ask Me Anything sessions with the speakers, and a networking session among the attendees in the event.
- Published the marketing materials for EcoTalks across various social media and within Shapers’ professional networks.
- Aquired 153 registrants within two weeks of publication.
- Held the event on Nov 3, 2023 with 50 total attendees.
- Planned the second leg of the project to hold workshops and consulting for SMEs in Indonesia.
- Identified the target companies and potential partners and looking to do more outreach.
Project Short-Term Goals:
- Educate young people on building a career in Sustainability
- Connect young people with career aspirations in Sustainability with senior professionals and their like minded peers.
