Residents of rural areas in Pakistan face a severe waste and pollution problem. The community generates a lot of plastic waste that isn’t properly disposed of and ends up polluting the environment and affecting its residents' health. Additionally, the area's limited water resources are diverted to less important tasks, such as conventional building construction, making it difficult to access clean and healthy potable water.

The hub took an initiative to start solving these problems in the form of EcoShapers, a sustainable solution to address the plastic waste problem, reducing environmental pollution and conserve water resources at the same time. The products are made by mixing and melting plastic waste and sand and using them as building blocks. This method reduces plastic waste from the community, while providing a reliable and sturdy construction material that can be used for building homes and other structures. By adopting this eco-friendly building method, the hub can help reduce plastic waste, lower pollution, and conserve water resources while constructing durable, sturdy, and low-cost structures.

The goals of this initiative include a range of environmental, social, and economic benefits. Objectives include:

• Reduced plastic waste: By using plastic waste to manufacture ecobricks, the project can help to divert waste from landfills and reduce the amount of plastic that ends up in the environment.


• Improved waste management: The project can help to promote better waste management practices within the community by encouraging proper disposal and recycling of plastic waste.
