Emergency Care

In the city of Kolkata, it is rare for regular citizens to be trained to provide emergency care. With an accident fatality rate of 52% (while the national average is 28%), Kolkata severely lags behind the rest of India in the area of citizen health and safety. The CSA (Citizen Safety Awareness) Project aims to increase the accident preparedness of Kolkata residents by providing widespread first aid training. In turn, this will reduce the accident fatality rate in Kolkata by increasing the likelihood of individuals with first aid training. The project will also encourage large corporations to implement more stringent first aid regulations.
