End Gender Based Violence

Problem statement:

As South Africans, we recognise that Gender based violence is the manifestation of a profound failure to recognise the inherent equality and dignity of women and children. The End Gender-Based Violence Project is committed to fighting for the equality and respect of all women and is committed to finding positive and sustainable ways to end gender-based violence in Cape Town.

Proposed solution:

As the Cape Town hub, we aim to tackle the issues of Gender based violence in Cape Town through focusing the activities of this project in the following ways:

·       Pledge: creating an online petition signed by men and women that pledge to end GBV

·       Protect: Take responsibility for the safety of women in Cape Town

·       Promote: creating awareness around how GBV victims in Cape Town can access help.

·       Protest: actively participate in protesting change in Cape Town

Target group:

The target group for this project are victims and survivors of Gender based violence as well as Cape Town citizens.

Our short-term goal is to connect and engage with the Cape Town community. To ensure that we are engaging and including men, women, the youth and the elderly in the conversation. To encourage all citizens of this city to be active advocates in the fight to end GBV.

Our long-term goal is twofold:
