Energy Transition Melbourne

Australia has among the best solar energy resources in the world, with the highest average solar radiation per square meter of any continent. However, Australia’s use of solar energy accounts for about 0.1 per cent of the country's total primary consumption. Today, Australians pay amongst the world's highest energy prices and is largely reliant on ageing coal-fired power plants.

The Melbourne Hub will address the barriers that exist for organizations to deploy clean energy projects, starting with not-for-profit organisations. The project will demonstrate the financial and environmental benefits of the energy transition and if successful with the not-for-profit organisations, it will be a strong incentive for larger corporations to follow suit.
