ESG Business Case Competition

The ESG Business Case Competition, co-hosted by the Global Shapers Community, was successfully held at the Shanghai Innovation and Entrepreneurship Academy in Wujiaochang. Twelve teams from three schools in Yangpu, namely Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Fudan University, and Tongji University, engaged in intense competition. The final judging panel was comprised of Mr. Chen Xiaobin, Ms. Qian Shushan, Mr. Li Yang, and Ms. Chen Zidan. The event was inaugurated with a speech by Mr. Guo Ruizhe. In his opening remarks, Mr. Guo Ruizhe provided a brief introduction to the attending judges and welcomed the guest speaker, Mr. Wang Xingyu, for an online lecture. Mr. Wang Xingyu shared his perspectives on ESG and entrepreneurial experiences, encouraging young people to focus on issues related to social responsibility and sustainable development. He expressed gratitude for being invited by the organizers of this competition. Each participants were asked to analyse business cases by diving deeply into a leading company’s performance based on the standard of ESG. The competition aims not only to nurture the awareness of ESG among college students but also to enhance their teamwork capability and presentation skills. By participating in this competition, college students learned about how to integrate ESG principles into the business decision-making process, which further prepared them to be a more efficient contributor to the sustainable development of our society.
