Impact

Financial Literacy

This project is aims to impart financial literacy and other basic business skills to high school aged students from low income schools. Through a series of workshops focused on budgeting, value creation and entrepreneurial stamina - the project hopes to tackle the large youth unemployment currently observed in the country and particularly among low income communities.

The project impacted over 250 learners at two schools based in a local township: Mamelodi where some business startups that were funded continued to function after initial funding was provided. The first cohort of the programme completed matric in 2020.

Project collaborators included Nedbank (funder), local schools and teachers as well as the South African Reserve Bank.
