Problem Statement:

 

Several bloody and terrible wars are currently raging in the world, and the majority of casualties are young people. According to WHO, injuries are the leading cause of death among adolescents and young adults, even in times of peace. So knowing how to act in case of injury might save the life of someone who needs it. However, for many years lifesaving skills were somehow stigmatized, and the fear prevented people from learning. Now we aim to empower people in pursuing preparedness.

 

The mission of the project is to save the lives of the Shapers and their friends, colleagues, and relatives via sharing first aid skills among the Global Shapers Community network. We aim to raise awareness about safety, life-threatening conditions, and proper risk assessment.

 

Proposed Solution: 

 

Emergencies can strike anytime, anywhere, and affect anyone. Basic first aid can mean the difference between life and death. A Red Cross survey showed a staggering 59% of deaths from injuries would have been preventable had first aid been given before the emergency services arrived. In emergencies, lives are saved by ordinary people who know how to act.

Every shaper can be a hero by learning and providing first aid when the time comes and ensuring first aid training is accessible to all. Together, we can prepare heroes around the world. Be a hero. Share to shape.

The project aims at training Shapers first, who then provide training in their community about how to deliver first aid care.
