Foundations For Tomorrow Gold Coast

Problem Statement: Australian youth need their voice heard by government and industry in order to action a youth-drive recovery to the pandemic.

Target Group: Australian youth and their allies, government, industry

Proposed Solution: The Foundations for Tomorrow (FFT) project aims to drive a high-scale dialogue between Australian youth and influential leaders across government, business, and other key sectors/stakeholder groups to co-design what the future of Australia should look like.

This project is cross-hub collaboration between Australian hubs being led by the Sydney hub – see their project page here: https://toplink.weforum.org/initiatives/explore/a0s680000004EufAAE

Hub Activities: The Gold Coast hub is contributing to the FFT cross-hub collaboration by:

1. Hosting a dialogue during our ecology camp on 27 March 2021 to focus on the topics of Net Zero and Conscious Consumerism. <15 hub members and people in the community will be involved.

2. One hub member is part of the national advisory committee providing strategic input and feedback and connecting the project with people and organisations in their vast network.

3. We've supported FFT by drafting the media release to launch the survey and providing an Australia-wide media distribution list and strategic advice around execution.

4. Recording and airing a podcast across Apple iTunes, Google Podcasts and Spotify featuring Taylow Hawkins and the Davos Lab FFT project.

5. Promoting the survey to our mentors and corporate partners and schools and making warm introductions.

6. Promoting the survey across all social media accounts (instagram, Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter)

7. Filling the survey and distributing to family and friends

Goals:

- Support our participating hub members to be active contributors the national project team

- We hope to partner with Intrepid Landcare and Blue Fig Tree private property owners  in our dialogue and are aiming to engage 15-20 participants to join the event and submit a survey response.

- We hope to generate at localised report to reflect the issues facing the Gold Coast and drive change through continuous dialogue after this campaign.
