Future City Dialogue Series

Inclusiveness is essential for a city's sustainable development. And this requires trust, mutual understanding, and a shared vision for people to co-create the future city that they’d like to be part of. Piloting among young professionals, Future City Dialogue is a Hong Kong hub project to enhance civic engagement among the youth population. Designed to co-create and improve the future readiness of Hong Kong, dialogue series are organised to distill actionable insights on various issues related to topics of future-proofing the city as it gradually recovers from the public health crisis and other longstanding social issues.

Current themes under the umbrella of future city are the future of work, future skills, future of infrastructure, and future of sustainability. Future City Dialogue Series are regular series of discussion forums where participants can share their opinions based on the curated topics, and led by experienced facilitators using the design thinking method. Action items are generated after each session.

Goals:

- Enhance civic engagement, particularly the young professionals

- Engage diverse groups of young professionals

- Distill action items every session

- Publish a summary report after 1 to 2 years (summarising key action items from the youth voices)

- Organise one session every one to two months
