Future Diversity: “Shaping Minds, Transforming Communities"

Problem Statement

The Osaka Hub is characterized by a diverse community of researchers, entrepreneurs, government agencies, administrators, and artists. In addition, it was found that many members of the Osaka Hub are unaware of the gender bias of being female.

”The problem in Japanese society is that the existing concept of diversity itself is not fully understood.”

“Japan is a backward country, especially when it comes to gender inequality. What actions need to be taken to correct the social and cultural disparities between men and women?”

Based on these opinions, we asked ourselves what kind of impact can the Osaka Hub project have in terms of "diversity"? We would like to initiate a social impact project that focuses on what kind of impact can be made on "diversity" through Osaka Hub's projects.

Proposed Solution

We start setting the discussion and study session in Osaka hub, and try to hold the close/open-event cooperating with Research Community Association and make an impact to change Japanese mindset.

Goals

  • Increase Awareness: The project aims to raise awareness among the members of the Osaka Hub about the importance of diversity, gender equality, and the existing gender bias in Japanese society.

  • Education and Knowledge Sharing: The project intends to provide educational sessions, workshops, and study sessions to equip participants with knowledge and insights on diversity, gender inequality, and ways to challenge societal disparities.

  • Cultural Mindset Shift: The project seeks to initiate a shift in the cultural mindset by encouraging open discussions, challenging stereotypes, and promoting inclusivity within the Osaka Hub and the wider community.

  • Collaboration and Networking: The project aims to foster collaboration and networking opportunities among diverse stakeholders, including researchers, entrepreneurs, government agencies, administrators, and artists, to collectively address diversity-related issues.

  • Impacts:

  • Increased Understanding: By raising awareness and providing education, the project aims to help members of the Osaka Hub gain a deeper understanding of the concept of diversity, gender bias, and their implications in society.

  • Attitude and Behavior Change: The project endeavors to bring about a positive change in the attitudes and behaviors of the participants, encouraging them to challenge gender stereotypes, embrace inclusivity, and actively promote diversity within their respective spheres of influence.

  • Knowledge Sharing and Skill Development: Through study sessions, workshops, and networking opportunities, participants will gain knowledge and skills to advocate for diversity and equality, fostering a culture of inclusivity and empowerment.

  • Community Engagement and Collaboration: The project aims to foster a sense of community and collaboration within the Osaka Hub by providing platforms for open discussions, encouraging networking, and facilitating partnerships with external organizations. This will contribute to a more cohesive and supportive community that actively promotes diversity.

  • Ripple Effect: The impact of the project extends beyond the Osaka Hub as participants, equipped with knowledge and motivation, share their experiences and insights with others. This creates a ripple effect, leading to broader societal change and increased awareness about diversity and gender equality.
