After the pandemic, young people in Barakaldo (Biscay) have been one of the most affected groups. in so many ways. Thus, in order to listen to them, we have designed a participatory process with the youth of the city.

In 2022, Global Shapers Bilbao, together with the Youth Area of ​​Barakaldo Municipality, has carried out a participation process together with young people to create strategic priorities in the field of Youth.

In this project we have emphasized the point to involve and listen to youth in order to have a greater impact and co-create solutions together with them.

Thus, the project has had 4 objectives:

   1. Involving the youth in order to explore and co-create in a participatory and collaborative way.
   
   
   2. understand the current needs of Barakaldo youth in a new post-pandemic and highly changing context.
   
   
   3. enhance the City Council's service offer, adapting it to new needs.
   
   
   4. position the Barakaldo City Council as a success story in Youth and youth participation.
   
   
   
   

To achieve them, we have carried out the next four phases:

So far we have reached more than 160 young citizens:

  143 of them through survey responses


• 8 of them through in-depth interviews


• 10 of them through 1 presential workshop

and 16 people from the City Council involved

• 10 in-depth interviews
