With progress made in marriage equality worldwide, there is still a much higher suicide rate among LGBTQIA+ youth. In Germany, young people are still mocked and bullied for their sexual orientations, gender identities and gender expressions. By holding gender-neutral clothing-swaps, the Dusseldorf Hub aims at challenging binary thinking in clothing, providing a safe space for young people to explore gender expressions in clothing, and increase awareness and tolerance towards the LGBTIQA+ community in the society. - Connect newcomers in universities to existing LGBTIQA+ communities, e.g. student associations, youth centers - Hold gender-neutral clothing-swaps to provide a safe space for young people to explore gender expressions in clothing - Bring attention to intersectionality of equality and climate justice and to promote better alternatives to fast fashion among young people - Advocate for inclusiveness in clothing-swap events and within organizations
