Get out the Vote Campaign

Problem Statement: Citizens in New Haven, CT, and across the USA encounter barriers when attempting to register to vote, particularly if they are first-time voters.

Target Group: The target group for this project comprises citizens in New Haven, CT, and across the USA who need to register to vote in order to participate in elections and have their voices heard.

Proposed Solution: The hub collaborated with national and local partners to facilitate voter registration for citizens in New Haven, CT, and across the USA. The hub accomplished this by providing access to a user-friendly voter registration platform and assisting individuals in navigating the registration process.

Hub Activities: The hub, in partnership with national and local organizations, undertook several activities to address the voter registration issue. Hub members volunteered at local events, collaborated with healthcare workers and institutions to offer accessible registration opportunities to patients, and engaged other Global Shapers hubs throughout the USA.

Short & Long-Term Goals/Results: The project's short and long-term objectives involve initiating the voter registration process for a significant number of individuals. The hub has successfully initiated over 30,000 instances of the voter registration process through provided links.
