Impact

Gira Ilha

In the case of Gira Ilha, its main challenge is to drive the fight against gentrification and socio-spatial inequality in the local community. Therefore, the project focuses on connecting the population with local culture, implementing tools that assist not only in the creation of cultural itineraries but also in fostering a sense of belonging among this population.

When we talk about inclusion, we aim to defend rights, modernize social norms, and break stereotypes by encouraging the population to also consume what belongs to their territory. Through this integration, we actively seek to combat the challenges identified, creating increasingly interconnected environments.

We will also facilitate improvements in cultural education and opportunities for the promotion of independent work, diverse knowledge, and integration with local art, which is disseminated at great cost throughout the capital city of Santa Catarina.

As first steps, the development of a chatbot prototype and Google Maps will assist in producing these artistic routes, encompassing both the city of Florianópolis and Greater Florianópolis (its nearby regions). The team involved in the project began by defining the product on two fronts: a chatbot with information on how to access Gira Ilha and a route built within Google Maps showcasing recurring events throughout the year.

The Gira Ilha team initiated mapping on cultural websites in Florianópolis and Greater Florianópolis, where information such as events, prices, locations, dates, and times were collected to be included in the database of each proposed activity, along with fieldwork to attend and personally experience the artistic events promoted by independent artists and organizations.

Our Metrics: Geographical reach: Essential for determining its penetration in various communities, monitoring the number and geographical distribution of listed cultural events provides insights into areas where culture can be more widely disseminated and accessed. Consequently, the goal is to record at least 20% of the total number of participants in listed events over a period of 12 months and increase the variety of free or low-cost cultural activities by 30% within 6 months.

Collaborations and partnerships: By measuring the number and quality of collaborations among artists, cultural institutions, and local organizations, we can assess the level of cooperation and synergy within the cultural ecosystem and community engagement, resulting in innovative initiatives and amplification of the generated impact. Thus, the measurable objective is to establish at least 5 new strategic partnerships resulting in joint cultural initiatives within a 6-month period..

User feedback: This is a valuable source of information about the effectiveness and relevance of Gira Ilha. By collecting and analyzing feedback on usability, usefulness, and user experience with the interaction platform, we can identify strengths and areas for improvement, ensuring that the map meets the needs and expectations of the target audience. The goal here is to conduct quarterly surveys on usability, usefulness, and user experience on a scale of 1 to 10, aiming to achieve an average satisfaction score of 8 points.

Socio-economic impact: In addition to cultural value, there may also be a significant impact on the socio-economic development of the region. By evaluating participants' spending at cultural events, on one hand, we can better understand their potential to stimulate local economic activity and create opportunities to improve access to cultural and artistic manifestations. On the other hand, the goal is to increase the average spending of participants at low-cost events by up to 20% over a period of 12 months.

Social impact: Measured through qualitative indicators, the goal here is to collect at least 4 stories illustrating the map's impact on social cohesion and community belonging within a 6-month period.
