Problem Statement:  

There is a gap in the leadership capabilities of youth engaged in community development work.

Proposed Solution:  

The program provides youth engaged in community development work with tools and approaches to drive positive change in this world to to boost their leadership characteristics and self-awareness for better handling of global & social issues. The journey provides young leaders with first-hand experiences of global leadership, bringing together research-based leadership knowledge and the application of leadership skills to real world cases and exercises.

Hub Activities:  

The Actions that were taken to address this project, is cooperating with the program provider which is Global Leadership training program (GLTP), GLTP is an online initiative based in Tokyo, Japan that works in collaboration with MEXT. The initiative aims to create and enhance a community of highly effective young leaders from around the globe to empower and drive positive change in the community through a series of online leadership training sessions divided into 3 trimesters, which are; 6 weeks leadership course, business-oriented section for assisting alumni projects, and eventually face to face section focusing on networking and leadership content review. 

The cooperation is launching a partnership between the hub and GLTP to engage shapers of various hubs around the region in reaching out youth calibers in the societies around the region to take part in the program among other participants from around the globe. 

The collaboration is beneficial for both sides as for Global Shapers, it will provide shapers with the opportunity to engage and take part in a beneficial educative program to raise their leadership abilities to be applied within their work with their hubs. On the other hand, the collaboration is beneficial for the program to achieve an outreach and diversity of participants through engaging shapers from the Arab region, which we handled as a hub to take the responsibility of the outreach and nomination of participants from various hubs around the Arab region. 

Moreover, beside the outreach through different social media channels and platforms, an orientation session was provided collaboratively with other hubs to get them to know more about the opportunity, its benefits, and how to take part in it.  

Lately, through this last batch of the program held in November 2022, 7 participants of those reached out by the hub members got accepted and took part in GLTP program.  

We’re looking forward to extend the partnership and reach out more participants through new hubs around the Arab region.

- Provide youth calibers around the region with learning opportunities to maximize their leadership potentials to shape better communities. 

- Engage shapers in reaching out youth calibers within their circles and networks in social work in order to make a positive impact. 

- Enhance cross-hubs relationships through opportunities engaging diverse hubs shapers. 

- Long term goal: 

- Enhance shapers’ leadership potentials to contribute for more projects/initiatives later on.
