Go Da Vinci
Go Da Vinci aims to increase the number of STEM students enrolled at Czech universities and guide those interested in a career in STEM. This is to be achieved through regular communication campaigns on social media (mainly Instagram and TikTok) and by providing a complex, easy-to-navigate, and user-friendly overview of STEM study fields in the Czech Republic on a dedicated website.
The Go Da Vinci project pursues the following goals:
1. Build awareness and raise the interest of young people in STEM.
2. Motivate high-school students to apply for STEM study fields at universities by providing relevant and authentic role models. Present STEM study fields as more easily accessible than students may think.
3. Popularize science as a viable career choice. Show students and STEM graduates which career options they have in STEM by providing them with a roadmap to achieve these goals.
Target group
The Prague Hub’s main target group is young people who hesitate to apply for STEM studies and embark on a STEM-related professional journey, mostly due to:
• Lower confidence in their own intellectual capacities and capabilities, while considering STEM subjects “too difficult to master”,
• Lacking role models in STEM,
• None or overwhelming quantity of relevant information to decide on the best STEM study field/career,
• Already having started their university studies, yet are dissatisfied and would rather switch to STEM subjects.
Action plan for 2022
• Achieve 500 followers on each of the two social media platforms
• Create 36 engaging posts (2 videos and 4 extra posts per month)
• Develop the Go Da Vinci website
