Grand Baby Shower

In the spirit of preventing wastage, the hub made flyers and ran a campaign calling on the public to donate used but loved baby items so that these could be added to the care packages for moms and babies. Those that were willing to buy new items were also welcome to do so and a baby clothes drive was done. Items were collected from the general public and hub members alike. The hub provided the first items collected, consisting of clothes, blankets, nappies and other amenities to a man who lost his home and family members during floods in a Windhoek informal settlement in 2018. The rest of the items that were collected were handed over, in conjunction with a similar social responsibility drive initiative from the Namibian Police Service Women’s Network to a Safe Haven. This is a home that accommodates and looks after vulnerable and abandoned children. Children are placed there by the Gender Based Violence Unit of the Namibian Police Force.
