A need exists to remold the education system in line with a sustainable future and goals.

Solution

The Green Today Build Tomorrow project is working at supporting students in schools to pursue careers in the green economy - in line with the future of work - through practical demonstrations and lessons on food security and environmentally friendly practices in their schools and communities. The main driver is in supporting students to apply lessons towards a sustainable future through their career choices.

Target

1,500 students.

Goal

The objective is remolding the education system in line with a sustainable future and goals.

• Support schools to teach learners about Climate Change and how it affects them and their future,


• Support vulnerable and under-serviced communities to better respond to the effects of climate change,


• Support efforts to sustainably feed learners in participant schools who are dependent on the feeding schemes with fresh vegetables grown in their school, and


• Support and career guidance for learners to become more aware of their capacity to contribute to and participate in Green Careers of the future to contribute to a future that better responds to the effects of Climate Change.

Activities

Part of this solution is supporting and growing the network of schools in reducing utility costs by being more conscious of their water and electricity usage while also supporting learners whose main source of nutrition is through the school feeding scheme to get access to fresh vegetables that they grow themselves.

Impact

• Vulnerable and under-serviced communities better respond to the effects of climate change,


• Learners in participant schools are able to sustainably feed themselves with fresh vegetables grown in their school, and
