Happiness Challenge 2020

The world is experiencing unprecedented psycho-social, emotional, and mental health challenges due to the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak.

The Beijing Hub II aims to address these issues by engaging a community of young people in China and globally in a "Happiness Challenge" – a 21-day online course that brings together positive psychology with daily challenges designed to build healthy habits, resilience, and a supportive community of peers and experts.

The program features daily seven-minute challenges, multimedia content by experts including Dr. Laurie Santos of Yale University — whose popular “Science of Well-being” course serves as the basis of our Challenge — and digital peer support groups that reinforce positive habits and a sense of camaraderie during this difficult time.

Over 1,500 young people from China and globally are participating in the challenge, submitting a daily update of their progress. We are now working on distributing content to universities, hospitals, and mental health organizations to reach thousands more most in need.
