PROBLEM STATEMENT:


Refugees in Lesvos, Greece need to receive donations so that they can fulfill their needs.



TARGET GROUP:


Refugees at the Moria camp located in Lesvos, Greece.



PROPOSED SOLUTION:


In cooperation with Europe Cares, our Hub plans to deliver as many basic items as possible to help those refugees in need.


HUB ACTIVITIES:


The Munich Hub is responsible for following actions:





  • Get in contact with manufacturers and other organizations that may sponsor the initiative through donations - either in monetary form or products. 




  • Set a target campaign about the initiative to share on social media and intensify our outreach. 




  • Create a crowdfunding to receive external donations and not necessarily from companies. 




  • Coordinate the support needed from other hubs and co-lead them towards the project goals.




  • Establish a partnership with Europe Cares to help us with the logistics.




SHORT-TERM GOALS /RESULTS:





  • 1 corporate sponsor joined the initiative within its first two months.




  • Immediate support from other 4 Hubs by reaching out to their communities and looking for new donors.




  • 100 sustainable toothbrushes made out of bamboo were delivered within the project’s first six months of creation.





LONG-TERM GOALS /RESULTS:


The project aims to improve the hygiene of and to bring a smile to some of those refugees by supporting with the delivery of need items and somehow alleviate the poor conditions most of them face, especially after the huge fire that devastated the Moria camp in 2020 and the current development of the COVID-19 pandemic.



AVAILABLE METRICS:





  • 100 sustainable toothbrushes were delivered to Lesvos, Greece in 2020 and, that way, we assisted 100 refugees.




  • 1 corporate sponsor.




  • +10 Shapers contributed to project or continue to.




  • +100€ was collected through our crowdfund and will be used to sponsor further transaction costs.




  • 1 article from Impakter, a global platform for news, dedicated to the project.
