HER Startup

Problem Statement: Women in Saudi Arabia need to acquire entrepreneurial and technological skills in order to thrive in business.

Target Group: Women interested in business, technology, and entrepreneurship in Saudi Arabia.

Proposed Solution: The HER Startup community is fostering a connection among women with interests in business, technology, and entrepreneurship. This is complemented by a series of both virtual and physical workshops designed to enhance soft-skills as well as entrepreneurial prowess.

Hub Activities: Conducting three hands-on workshops focused on essential entrepreneurial skills. Hosting online webinars featuring expert speakers to discuss relevant topics in business and technology. Ensuring the accessibility of these resources both virtually and physically to reach a wider audience.

Short & Long-Term Goals/Results:

  • Short-Term: To engage over 150 attendees in the workshops and webinars, with a focus on ensuring at least 80% of these are women, thereby directly empowering them.

  • Long-Term: To be a catalyst for more girls and women in Saudi Arabia to venture into business and technology fields. The ultimate vision is to inspire and educate women on establishing their own businesses in KSA.

Available Metrics: As of now, the hub has hosted workshops and webinars benefiting over 150 attendees. Out of these, 80% were women who were directly empowered through the initiative. Future metrics will be focused on tracking the number of women who start their own businesses as a result of this initiative, as well as the expansion of the program to reach more women in Saudi Arabia.

Collaborators: HER Startup is in collaboration with WEDO, which stands out as the largest non-profit organization dedicated to female founders globally.
