I Rise: Equity for Her

I RISE: Equity For Her is a program that seeks to empower young girls and women in their personal, educational & professional careers with Financial Aid, Workshops, Training, and Internship opportunities through public and private partnerships. It is primarily focused on the SDG goals 1) Gender Equality; 2) Quality Education and; 3) Decent Work and Economic Growth. The motive of this initiative is to enhance the female literacy ratio, by covering the enrollment, education fees, and other hidden charges, including but not limited to transportation, internet facilities, etc. Moreover, it also aims at placing the graduated females into the sound workplace where they can achieve and learn more- contributing to the larger picture of economic prosperity.

The first phase of the programme includes fundraising for deserving students for their educational expenses, including admission, tuition fee, books and travel expenses. This phase commences in August as new admissions for the academic year begin in fall, in September and October. For the payment logistics, domestic contributors can pay online via JazzCash or EasyPaisa to maintain transparency. Moreover, overseas payment methods are available through Western Union and PayPal.

Since its induction, I RISE: Equity for Her has aided numerous girls in acquiring their bachelor's education and beyond in various ways. The initiative has supported 16 girls (during the 2021, fall session) with total tuition fees and monthly transportation costs to and from the university campus. Additionally, it has provided free monthly data packages to these 16 girls so that they may continue their education after school hours without any hindrance. For fall 2022, I RISE supported 11 more students with their admission and enrollment fees. Furthermore, I RISE has successfully placed two girls in two different organisations for post graduate experience, and has allocated five aspiring girls to internship oppertunities (for Fall 2021 session). For Fall 2022, I Rise further matched five more final-year students for paid internship programmes in different organisations for professional skill development.

As I RISE is an ongoing project, it is looking forward to all the possible partnerships for fundraising to advance women's education, as well as support for the placement of young women graduates into the workplace.
