Responding to recession, Shapers founded the Inklina Business School to spur innovation, entrepreneurship and private ownership in Sumgait, Azerbaijan. By equipping low-income individuals with knowledge and networks to lead their own enterprises, Shapers are supporting a new generation of entrepreneurs to drive economic transformation, competitiveness and job creation in the region. Already, five enterprises have been founded through their efforts including: an online marketplace, financial services firm, advertising firm, impact fund and platform for freelance trainers. Alumni of the programme will even participate in Techstars Startup Weekend Baku powered by Google, where they will present their business models to established entrepreneurs in the city.
