Introduction to 3d Printing Camp; Digital Manufacturing

The problem that university students face is that they have creative and complex design ideas, that when they try to manufacture it physically, the conventional methods available for production limit their creativity and makes them compromise their designs.

The project targets university students within engineering or design fields including, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Design, & Interior design. The workshop explains the opportunities of modern ways of manufacturing using digital manufacturing and 3D Printing to be able to bring complex shapes and ideas to reality without facing constraints of conventional manufacturing methods, allowing the students to explore further than what they are limited to. The actions taken where approach universities and provide a social media campaign to address as much students as possible, and finally conduct a workshop or seminar, or a webinar, whatever suits the university best.

In the short term the goal is to allow the students to explore new methods of manufacturing to help with their designs and university work, and in the long term we believe we will have a generation of engineers and designers that have a much higher level of creativity and complexity in their innovation and designs which will allow them to build the sectors they are working in to the next level.

The metrics are number of seminars & students attending, and as there are new students joining the university every year, therefore there is a new batch to teach in every year or sometime semester.

We are collaborating with XTrude Engineering to provide the tools and machinery available for students to use and 3D Print their designs at a discounted students rate.

So far this project has completed more than 10 seminars & Webinars, teaching more than 200 students at 3 different universities.
