Kunka: Alientos Vividos

Kunka means "voice" in a native language from the northwest of Argentina (Quichua or Quechua). What we want with this project is help people to speak up their problems, destigmatize mental health problems and build tools that could reach and help people in a larger scale.

The project have 3 stages:

1_ Collecting experiences. We lunched a survey where people can tell their experience and (if they were able to) how they overcome those situations. This survey is address to everyone, no matter where he/she is. From this survey, we are going to select a reduce number of people for creating a small group. Unfortunately, the survey is only in spanish, but you can take a look at it and ask if you need a translation.

2_ Group sessions. Once we have the small group from the previous step, we will start having sessions where, firstly, a professional will give some useful information about mental health problems. Secondly, in the following sessions, the people in the group will share their experiences and tools that may be useful on those situations (one person per session). The idea is that we have the time to try the tools proposed by the other member and then tell how you feel it with it (for example, meditation, singing, painting 'mandalas', making clay dolls, etc).

3_ Reach & Share. Once everyone in the group has speak in a session, we will create "something" that could reach globaly to anyone that is suffering a mental health problem. This "something" should reflect what we worked on the sessions (experiences and tools). We don't know yet what this something is going to be, we want to create it with the whole group, and we want the ideas to come up from there. An exmaple of this "something" could be a book, a serie in Youtube, short videos in a social network, etc.
